Notes

1 - indicates a degraded processor clock. Where an Integrated Facility for Linux is fitted to these systems, it operates at the full standard uni-processor power and is not degraded.

2 - The Group may be of little value in estimating IBM software charges because so many machines are subject to special bids of various sorts. Most group-based charges were withdrawn on 1 January 2000. Consult your IBM Business Partner for a proper view.

Disclaimer:
In common with other analysts, isham research performs no benchmarks and has never operated any of the above machines. All values are based entirely on conjecture, hearsay, rumour and suspicion - prepared in the back of a speeding car from SMS text messages using a Nokia Communicator. If that's not an 'uncontrolled environment', it's hard to know what is. Anyone who thinks you can quote system performance to three places of decimals without even knowing the operating system - much less the workload mix - is a danger to themselves and others. E&OE. Your mileage may vary. Void where prohibited. May contain traces of nuts. California sales tax is not applicable. Alle Angaben ohne Gewehr (d.h., Waffen zum Kopfschiessen müssen Sie selber besorgen!).

As we all know, IBM NEVER publishes MIPS figures - but if they did, they'd be the same as these.
