These MIPS values are only approximately comparable with the MIPS values given for earlier systems because they are based on the performance of the z9 - which uses a markedly different processor design to earlier systems. Correct comparision of an earlier system with a 2094 requires factoring in the workload performance differences between the earlier system and the 2094. There are other tables on the Internet. There is no single numerical factor that can be applied to make this conversion.
As with previous generations of zSeries, 2094-z9EC MSUs will reflect approximately 10% more MIPS per MSU than z890 MSUs.
